2022 Outreach Programme details

October 2022

The JSAD, in association with Andrew Le Maistre Landscapes, has announced that the 2022 edition of the Wheelchair Basketball Schools Outreach Programme will take place between Monday and Friday, 7th-11th November.

The programme will once again be headed up by the legendary wheelchair basketball coach Gordon Perry, who has been involved in the sport for over 40 years.

Gordon has represented Great Britain at Paralympic level and he is the first winner of the London Wheelchair Marathon. Before launching the Gordon Perry Wheelchair Basketball Experience, he was the national Development Manager for the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association.

During the week the aim of the programme will be to give up to 500 Jersey students the opportunity to experience wheelchair basketball for themselves, which will raise their awareness of disability sport and experience what it’s like to sit in a wheelchair.

Paul Patterson MBE, Chairman of the JSAD said: “I am delighted to once again welcome Gordon Perry to Jersey. Gordon has supported the aims and objectives of JSAD for over 30 years and for the past 14 years he has returned to Jersey to deliver the Outreach Programme. I am also truly grateful to Andrew Le Maistre Landscapes who have generously supported this initiative.”
